Know Your Library
Routine tasks that should be taking place in campus libraries on a regular basis.
Minitex: Minitex is a state-funded library organization located at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. We connect libraries and individuals with information, ideas, and experiences to enrich lives and strengthen communities.
M State: We subscribe to a few of our databases through Minitex for a reduced rate, the eLibrary of MN (a big chunk of our databases) are managed through Minitex, our AskMN chat service is a Minitex based co-op, and our Inter-Library Loans get processed and delivered through Minitex.
PALS: PALS serves all Minnesota State college and university libraries, as well as private college and university, state government, public, school, and special libraries on a contract basis. Committed to fostering community and developing lasting relationships, PALS is a catalyst for the development of library systems statewide, empowering our customers to focus on what matters most: their students, classes, and administrative work.
M State: Everything Alma/Primo including implementation and trouble-shooting, we use their ez-proxy servers to make our databases accessible to all campuses, are a consortium we are a part of so they help us set guidelines and standards.
OCLC: OCLC is a global library cooperative that provides shared technology services, original research and community programs for its membership and the library community at large. With thousands of library members in more than 100 countries, we come together as OCLC to make information more accessible and more useful.
M State: WorldCat is an OCLC site and we upload our catalog information into OCLC using Connex.
Microsoft Teams - We use Teams to work between campuses and stay connected.
Some of the content in this video is obviously library specific but it does a great job of giving a general overview of shelving.
